History Aerospace engineer Gjalt Wijma initiated the development of the Aerorider with CC-Cycles, Admoco and Optima Cycles . Aerorider V.O.F. was founded by the end of 1999 for the further development of this new means of transportation. In 2003 Aerorider B.V. became an independent company based beside the harbour of IJmuiden 30 kilometres west of Amsterdam.
